FREEDOM FOR...

Lynndie England and all her comrades that have been convicted and serving sentences for torture. If CIA operatives who were"just following orders" are not going to be prosecuted, then set free and wipe clean the records of those who were offered up as sacrificial lambs by the very ones who ordered them to "soften up" their prisoners using any and all techniques, including torture.
The story they will tell their children? "I signed up to serve my country, I followed orders as any good soldier does, I did what they asked. Then my country prosecuted and jailed me for following orders. I was one of their sacrificial lambs. Now, my son, my daughter, wouldn't you like to sign up to serve your country?"
I call on all who consider themselves PATRIOTS to notify President Obama and demand these folks be cleared and returned home to their family. Demand, also, that those who asked for the memos and those who wrote memos regarding the legality of torture be held accountable. America's principles and values are at risk and we must hold accountable those who proposed and supported the use of torture. Someone must be held accountable, these horrors cannot go unpunished.

  1. I had been meaning to comment on this one ever since you wrote it, I think, but with all the guys in the house and everything going on, it's just been mad!

You know, the first thing, the pictures, well i've got this book "Bloody heros"... I guess, not really your style, but in fact it's so much more than an action story... the political background is quite interesting and most of all the author, how he feels for the people he writes about. he's a journalist who knows, he can't get the truth published, so he wrapps it up as an action story. Anyway, in the middle of that battle all of a sudden a pair of white doves appears. Imagine that! the soldiers involved take it as a sign, that they then might make it out alive, before that point they were pretty much f¤cked and not much was pointing to them getting through this unharmed...
and then one day, or rather evening a few hundred kilometres north of the polarcircle we also saw, what looked like white doves, right in the middle of nowhere, appearing in front of our headlights... but I guess, they were in fact snow chickens or something like that, even though they look like white doves...

    But back to your post:
very good point, that you make here; if they still want people to sign up to serve the country, then it would be a little better to consider getting to the real guilty ones and not just to those who were following orders!

And it also amazes me how some absolutely disgusting cruelty usually goes unpanished, whereas some soldiers almost get accused of war crinmes, just for carrying a gun (you might wanna check up on Lt. Col. Tim Collins' story and how he was framed.)

they're always very quick in finding scapegoats... but i guess, nothing is gonna change, while the money of certain supporters still rules...
